which is better? benq B7T9 or B3.2 ?
I'm happy with benq, it has bitsetting inside and writing quality yo CMC MAG disks is pretty good.

I'm having problems with version 3.2.
To tell the truth I also have the same problem with version 2.5, thus I need to switch back to version 2.2 which works fine to me.
The problem is that burning process hangs at 97% (no matter the speed). These are the data:
Support: DVD-R 4.7 (version 2.0 + revision 3.0)
OS: Windows XP SP1
Software: NERO 6.6

Any suggestion?

I've got a RETAIL 1640.

Sometimes, ti stops reading my backups (film-video) at 99%, then it goes on a loop...

I'm using dvd-decrypter.... that has always worked like a charm with my "old" Toshiba........

Maybe these Philips drives have problems reading/burning the outer sectors of the discs???

Help welcome........... before I return my drive to the shop... tomorrow, maybe....

Hi everyone,

I have cross-flashed my PBDV1640P making it a retail with firmware 3.4. I got problems with DVD + and - RW an switched successfully back to 2.2. But now I would like to try the B3.2 firmware. So I have to cross-flash again. Does anybody know how to get a B3.2 cvt file? Would be much appreciated.

Franz

Good Morning ,

First of all - hi guys this is my first post :)

I was wondering if there is any news on this issue yet ?
I myself have bought a black PBDVD1640P two days ago . Now i have been reading through a lot of posts on here and it seems i can upgrade it to the retail version - Are there any benefits in doing so ( More media supported etc. )?

And i was wondering if anyone can guide me through it . I have a basic idea - but could not find a nice and easy plan on how to do it .
My drive has a 3.0 Firmware - so should I 1. downgrade to 2.2 and 2. upgrade to 3.4 ? I know where to find the 3.4 - which is obviously retail then . But how does the downgrade to 2.2 work . Iam sorry if i maybe have missed the article that explains it better ... if someone could poit me to the link i would be very grateful !

Best Regards ,

Albert
