I also prefer a large review which will cover all section than a quack one which you can find everywhere.

I've just checked the plextor website and they have new firmware for this drive. 1.04 Released on the 21st

New Features:

DiMmY welcome to our forums, yes we know about the new firmare, already posted at the main website, i think we will not update anytime soon the review, since other reviews are on cue list, maybe when 1.05 released, we could do something

1.04 looks like it's made some huge changes already... you should take a look at what that drive can do with Optodisc 16x DVD+Rs

I recently purchased the plextor px-716. I am new to burning dvds and I was wondering if I should rip the movies with my samsung dvd rom and then burn with the plextor or just read and burn with the plextor. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Either is fine, the laser lens is better on your Plextor.
