Ricoh MP7200A -> Ricoh MP7240A firmware "upgrade".
It works great! All almost same as described in "OC" article about Ricoh 7063A, but for this case use algorithm, shown here:
- download both the firmwares for the MP7200A and MP7240A drives.
- download flashing software (RFlash_602.exe)
- extract both firmware and a copy of RFlash_602.exe into a directory
- the MP7200A firmware filename is S00a130.bin while the MP7240A firmware filename is R24ao208.bin
- start up RFlash_602.exe
- select your MP7200A burner from the "Target Drive" drop down menu
- select the S00a130.bin file from the "Source File" drop down menu
- tick the "Back Up current F/W" box to save your current firmware, just
in case
- press the "Next" button
- before you press the "Start" button, go to the directory where you
saved the firmware files
- rename the MP7200A firmware (S00a130.bin) to something else (for example, S00a130.bin.old)
- rename the MP7240A firmware (R24ao208.bin) to S00a130.bin
- press the "Start" button and it should proceed with the upgrade
- after the upgrade has finished, shut down your computer for a couple
seconds, then start it up again
- now you "upgraded" your MP7200A to a MP7240A
IMPORTANT NOTE: do not try this procedure to upgrade your RICOH MP7200A to MP7320A it don't work and may damage drive!!!
