Virtumundo!!! Die, Die, Die!!!

Somebody need to find the person who made this gayware and shoot that son of a bitach!!!

Ok, can someone instruct me to how I can get this spyware crap uninstall?
Many Thanks to whoever that can help me out, this thing is turning my computer into a vegatable.

I would suggest to use a good antivirus and install AdAware (www.lavasoft.de) will kill most spyware!

Hey Emperor, yes, thats what I thought too.... I have the latest AdAware installed, but that don't help. I also have my AntiVirus up to date too, but its not a virus issue.

This thing is nasty. I can't even End Process it, it just comes right back on. Samething when I use AdAware to remove it, its there everytime I scan my computer.

You'll have to do it in safe mode before anything loads up. SpySweeper by Webroot works MUCH better than adaware for me. Which CRAPWARE program do you have that you are trying to get rid of?

Virtumundo, is the ware that I am trying to get out of my computer. Safemode don't work for this ware either.

Try This:

Delete registry values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ BrowserHelperObjects. You should find and delete the '{00000000-5eb9-11d5-9d45-009027c14662}' key
Delete the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Browser Helper Objects{00000000-5eb9-11d5-9d45-009027c14662}

Delete files:
IEHelper.dll, domlst.cch

Good News! To my surpise, when I turn on my computer this morning... I found that my AntiVirus program took care of that little piece of crap. I wouldn't think that my AntiVirus program would do anything, cause Virtumundo is a data miner/popup.

I wish it would always be that easy to get rid of the pests!
Few days ago I was called to fix up a computer and owner insisted that I should clean it, instead of complete reinstall. When I asked the reason for it, he told me that if complete reinstall was only possibility, he should call people from two other firms for installing their softwares and it would be a PITA to get them quickly enough. "Oh, that's ok" I thought... until I opened the computer...

I've never seen so badly infested computer!
I immediately told the owner that I could only try to save what's salvageable, but at the end I should do complete reinstall anyways. He could save time and troubles if I could just take backups of data and proceed with reinstall, but he insisted I should try simple cleaning first.

Saving the list of infections could be nice example of badly administrated computer - It's a shame I never thought that, until I wiped the HD...

One bad-ass worm is bad enough - How about 17 different ones running at same time?!
I'm not counting several occurences or the same worms, but the different worms!
How about (my) record of found viruses in one computer/HD - 26 different ones and staggering 961 occurences?!

A small favor like fast clean-up of compter of a friend-of-a-friend turned up being ugly record and a load of work. Next time when someone asks for favor, I'll think (at least!) twice...

Oh, there's brighter (and rewarding) side on this case, too: Now I can replace 2*256MB PC133 RAM modules of my poor computer... to 2*512MB 400MHz PC3200(?) DDR modules!
Edit: Oh, I hate when this happens! Apparently my MB does not like those memory modules, so I have to get a brand new MB.

Hi is a new owner of small company and that computer was used somewhat uncontrolled. If I had not seen (and fix) that dang system, I'd probably thought as something to laugh. That kind of infestation in computer which was used accounting and other bit sensitive stuff... unbelievable!

Well, at least he bought a system thats strong enought to handle it all...I am suprised that the computer dosen't just turns on and then crash

somewhat late answer but it'll do for future refference :)
next time a crappy spyware won't let u kill it through the alt+ctr+del function, try to ajust it's
priority to very low or sth and then go and plug it out of your registry by the regedit....
this will give u enough time before it reruns once agian from your registry and on to the top
of ur processes. :)

I do the spy/malware every night, the country I see is Sweden, same outfit Lavasoft?
