i have a p3 666MHz, 512mb ram, and a 15g hard drive. i just bought a pioneer dvr-108. when i use dvd x copy platinum, it takes an average of 45mins when doing the reading process. at work i have a p4 2.8GHz, 512mb ram, and 80g hard drive. the burner is an lg 4060, and it takes around 20mins.
now, my big concern is: is it slow because of my new pioneer dvr-108 or my p3 computer?

Use a different program for rip such as DVD Decrypter. The old drive maybe slow down the process. However as emperor already told you make sure tha DMA is enabled.

Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager. Right click on IDE/ATAPI Controllers, check the secondary IDE and on Advanced Settings set DMA.

yep.

With UDMA enabled, to read/rip a D9/DL disc should only takes about 20mins.
