The process is quite easy. First download the FlashFix software and then a Windows LiteOn flasher of the drive you wish to overlock.

List of possible overclocks:
LiteOn LTR-40125S -> LTR-48125W
LiteOn LTR-48126S -> LTR-48246S -> LTR-52246S

Not possible overclocks:
LiteOn LTR-48125S/W -> LTR-48126S
LiteOn LTR-48125S/W -> LTR-48246S
LiteOn LTR-48125S/W -> LTR-52246S

Other uses
Convert any LiteOn OEM drive (TDK, SONY, Verbatim, Cendyne, etc..) to an original LiteOn drive. Why you would want to do that? Cause LiteOn usually releases much freuqently firmware than the OEM customers!

So in case you wish to overlock a LTR-48126S to a LTR-52246S, you need to get the windows flasher of LTR-52246S (check the firmware section at the main page), and use the flashfix software (read the included instructions). After run the patched windows flasher and you now have a brand new LTR-52246S drive.

In case you wish to return back, use the LTR-48126S windows flasher (after patching it with the above procedure).

LiteOn LTR-32123S -> LTR-40125S
This is not possible using this method.

You would need the target drive firmware (aka the LTR-52246S)

Get flashfix and grag & drop the LiteOn Windows flasher into it, it will create 2 files (.exe the patched one, and a .bak file the original). Run the .exe file and point it to flash LTR-48246S!

Sony drives are as the same as theese lite-on drives

CRX210A1/E1(48x12x48) = Lite-On LTR-48126S
CRX215A1/E1(48x24x48) = Lite-On LTR-48246S
CRX220A1/E1(52x24x52) = Lite-On LTR-52246S

All can be flashed to any of the liteon firmwares however you will loose your SONY ID tag so I suggest for Sony drives goto my site (in my signature) and use the pre edited firmware.

It's an ODDITY - a one-off OEM firmware that brings 40x to the "3S" that used to only do 32x - as such, it's probably higher risk than the standard "5S/W" and "6S/W" series updates - if you break it, don't come running to us!
