@johanneshahn: Concerning region-free: Your screenshot only shows that you havent chosen your region yet. this has nothing to do with "region-free".
Concerning bitsetting: I guess you should try this first. I dunno, but maybe this option is always available to NERO, regardless if the burner supports this.

(+1, when I first flash my NEC 2510 v2.15 in v2.16, I thought 2.16 was region free, only because the flash reset my choose. When you first insert a DVD, you will see the region setted.)

May I ask if there is something new for the NEC 2510 ?
Regarding the NEC 2.17 not supporting Ritek DL yet (I see a 2.18 is in the pipe... but I doubt it will be available in time...

) it's very very curious since some clones already support Ritek DL.

I can ask even NEC have already mention not many updates for 2510A series, 3500A is HOT!

So they will loose some customers, because new DL discs support is a hot subject for me...

(NEC ND-2510 was out in 06/2004, not so old ? Or I'm wrong ?)

Its natural to give all resources for 3500A, i suppose they will eventually release something about 2510A

I just tried it and it works with 130 kBit/s!!!

Oh Mighty Emperor...

How do I get V2.27 ?? Is it out yet? I desperately need to change the bitsetting (book type) for DVD+RW (SL) to be read as DVD-ROM. I was able to successfully burn and play DVD+RW's with my HP 300i , but my NEC ND3500a will not burn a disk (DVD+RW) that is playable in a set-top DVD player. Any suggestions??
