You may get the GSpot tool from here

With this tool, you can get more information of your DivX/XviD AVI video.

See below for the DivX movie's information:

And the XviD movie's information:

I do think if you are going to convert some movie from one format to another, there is no reason to increase the video's resolution, bitrate, audio's sampling frequency, and bitrate.

So, if the source's video bitrate is 900, to set it to larger value (2000, 3000......) will not make the converted one looking better. As for this reason, to know the source's information becomes important.

Take the Mean Machine as an example.
If going to convert this DivX 3 MPEG4 movie to MPEG2 DVD movie by using TMPGEnc Plus, let's see what will happen when we change the bitrate for the target video and audio.

The source's value:
Video
Resolution: 576x320
Bitrate: 844kb/s
Audio
Sampling Frequency: 48000Hz
Bitrate: 129kb/s
Original Size: 696MB

With TMPGEnc Plus default settings for converting to High Quality Standard format:
Video
Resolution: 720x480
Bitrate: 4280kb/s
Audio
Sampling Frequency: 48000Hz
Bitrate: 1536kb/s
Converted Size: 4.7GB

Oops....this doesn't make ans sense, right?

See below when we try to customize some setting:
Video
Resolution: 352x240
Bitrate: 844kb/s
Audio
Sampling Frequency: 48000Hz
Bitrate: 384kb/s
Converted Size: 1015MB

Already get some improvement at least on the file size. Right?

I will post a DivX converting to MPEG2 (DVD) result tomorrow.
Let's see the converting quality when different video bit rates were set.

When I mess with my wife's G-Spot she is in no shape to process anything at all.

Well you would have to have caught her when she was a lot younger, I married her when she was 18---30years ago. I have kept a pretty good eye on her. However I did drive a truck for about 10 years. I'll have to ask her about that.
