Windows OS programs are not protected so anything will back them up. I suggest Alcohol to do the job. Try these settings and let me know how it goes.

reading:
Read Speed: Maximum*
Skip reading errors: Yes
Fast skip error blocks: Yes
Read Sub-Channel Data: Yes

writing:
Read Speed: Maximum*
Write Method: DAO RAW
Don't close the last session: No
Bypass EFM Error: No
Rectify Sub-Channel Data: No

even though there is no protection on the disc I suggest these settings. I have backed up Windows with these settings and why mess with something that works...LOL...

That's odd! I made a perfect 1:1 of Win2000 Professional with Nero 5.5.8.5 it even was bootable!

Could it be the media you're using? if the media is low quality it can have that effect (cutting out half way through). My first win98 backup was like that, but that was on the old BASF CMC CD-Rs which were forged by lucifer himself!

what I would do to make sure your copy works is put in your windows2k cd in your computer, make a folder on your computer and just drag everything off of the cd to your computer, then use something simple to burn it to a disc like nero or easy cd creator, that will work for sure

that will not produce a bootable cd. since ms operating systems aren't protected any decent disk copying software should do it. alcohol will do an excellent job.

You can use Nero to make a bootable CD, and just drag and drop files from the original CD into the compilation. I thin that'll work okay.
