Hi, I'm running a NEC ND-3500A drive with Firmware v2.16 Operating System is Windows 2000 Professional The rated maximum speeds for it are 16x write to DVD+R/-R, 4x write to +/-RW and +R DL (http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=10711) However, using Nero7 Ultra, the maximum listed speed is 4x when I insert a 16x rated Maxell DVD+R, 16x rated FujiFilm DVD+R, or 16x rated TDK DVD+R blank media (all 4.7GB single layer discs). Up to 12x is listed when 8x rated Memorex DVD-R media is used, and I have not tried any DL discs in the drive (I don't have any on hand) I succesfully burned a DVD+R at 4x, and a mini DVD-R at 2x (1.4GB) Without any disc inserted, the 1x - 6x options are listed. Is there a suggested firmware version to help resolve this problem? If anyone can help I'd like to know why this is occuring, and what steps can I take to resolve the problem? thanks, Christian
