heard that the new firmware for ND-3500 from nec should be out this week and still nothing
wft are they up to, doesn't nec know that support is a part of the product

any1 know fore sure when it's being released?

I emailed Nec asking when is it coming....never heard anything back from them.

since NEC refuse to upgrade their firmware i guess i have to ask them to replace my non working DL media with 5 that workes.

i the specs it says support DL media and not 1 specific DL media bad information but i guess they want people to buy there product.
1 month+ since i bought mine and still no firmware to make it work getting real annoyed

The 2.27 firmware doesn't support Ritek DL, unfortunaly...Of course with TDK firmware you can have Ritek DL support

2.27 is that the new firmware beeing released? or is it already and where?

does the TDK firmware work well?, is the ritek DL burns with that firmware in good quality?

be patient. I know it's hard, but you would not like it if they released a firmware that caused problems in other areas (LiteOn is famous for this) and they use their purchasers as a guinnea pig....

NEC is known for quality, and they are not going to release it until it's right....

i have been patient for 5 - 6 weeks now.
i heard that the next firmware doesn't support ritek DL (ridata) disc's so i'm fu**ed anyway.

hmm wonder if NEC send replacement disc's to the customers who bougt their drive in belif that it could burn the DL media out on the market.

I got fed up with looking at my box of Traxdata DVD+ R DL disks. Decided to flash my player with TDK 2.77 flash. It is working beautifully and no problem using traxdata disks. Burnt 140minute movie in 23 minutes. It also handles verbatim dl’s.

yeah i tried TDK 2.78.bin firmware but it was no good for ritek DL media, it burned them abit but i then got a burn error after about 1GB burned data. :-( so i reinstalled my original firmware

Its quite possible the problem lies at the media sometimes, for sure NEC hasn't yet released support for Ritek DL media...

get an e-mail today that stated that apparently no firmware if going to be released in the "near" future.

so i guess that all of us buing this drive and expected support are fu**d

now im going to sing a happy song :-)

I already patched my drive with a hacked firmware so I cannot patch to 2.18 because I would need to have 2.16. I didn't save it. What should I do?
