With unflash you can go install any firmware you desire at your ND-3500A

1. i have read your excellent firmware ovwerview post. however, i still cant flash my drive.
here is what i have done:
- i put the NEC3X00A.ZIP together with 278.bin on a floppy disc
- i start command prompt (win xp)
- when i enter the commands it doesnt work.

what am i doing wrong?

my nec dricve is the master and i guess is the secondary (the hard drive is the primary, right?). i have flashed it with mad dog's firmware.

2. how do i return to the 'original' firmware? you mentioned something about 'unflash' in a previous post.

i was little confused mysepf with this dos flasher.
i finally used uniflasher which is easier to use under winXP, but the "uniflash" site seems to be down for quit some time now

yes the windows flasher its much easier to use, if you have problems find it, i can host it somewhere

now that the lg 4160 is out, maybe we should consider 4160vs3500A and not 4120vs3500

the 4160 is not a 4x DVD+R9 recorder (and also correct me if i am wrong it only records DVD-R up to 12x) .....i am afraid that says it all for the device....allthough i am sure its very good as the 4120 was, which i had before getting my hands on the excellent 3500
