Curse you Emp! ;) I was going to be first here, but I was at the CDRlab.pl :D
Few weeks ago AOpen passed neccessary information to Nero, and we can see and test the results. You shown above a list of drives, for users not to common with pure h/w should know that AOpen 4410 is RICOH 5120 OEM. Below I'll present you with a few scans comparing the results among few AOpen drives, I currently have:
DVD1648/AAP f/w:1.05 (DVD-ROM)
DRW4410 f/w: 1.19 (DVD+R/RW, OEM RICOH 5120)
CRW5232 f/w: 1.03 (CD-RW)
We are scanning burned CD, 53m26s61f:
Although the CD-R is the same in all cases, the results are very different.
DVD-ROM DVD1648/AAP : The drive returns both, C1/C2 and Jitter. But it has the same bad point as LiteON DVD-ROM does. It can scan only with the highest speed, so the results should be considered as a 'real' result.
DVD+R/RW DRW4410: Only PI errors, no Beta, no PIF (PO), scan with the selected speed.
CD-RW CRW5232: Only C2 Error, no C1 no Jitter. Scan with the selected speed.
Now trying with DVD+R media.
