emperor, I have a few questions. I will soon be getting all of my stuff for my PS2. HDLoader, Network Adapter, and a HDD.
So first I format my HDD with HDLoader, and then I can put games on correct?
But say I want a DVD-9 game. So I get the file on my computer, and then I connect my PS2 HDD to the computer. And then I run HDL Dumb, and it put's it on my PS2 HDD. This is my main question.
When I get the file on my HDD, then I just put it back in the PS2 and it loads with HD Loader?
Also, when I put the file on the HDD, will it delete any of my other games that I have on it already?

Your help would be most appreciated! :)

Why you would want to put HDL Dumb on the PS2 HDD drive? Maybe i didn't understand correctly?

hey cricex, try giving some credit before posting "your" list. this guy worked his ass off and gives tons of people credit for their hard work. it's a small webworld cricex and people aren't stupid.

I'm a noob to all of this but I have done quite a bit of research. There is one thing bugging me though; what are the boot, sysconf, common etc partitions for? They are blank I guess and are not used with HDloader as that seems to have its own partition for settings. Are these partitions what would normally be on the official Sony HDD; in other words will the PS2 recgognise it in the browser and games that support the HDD see it properly?
I'm using an 80GB Maxtor disk, I put it in my PC, formatted it using Winhiip then used HDL Dumb to view the partitions created. I then installed the PS2 demo disk as a test but I cannot test just yet as I have yet to get my PS2 Network adaptor which should come in a few days.
I'm wanting the PS2 to see the drive like an official one and use HDloader as well.
Anyone have any ideas?

This is why there is an option for user's to submit their own findings, that way if the list is wrong, you can correct it.

Uhm, if you were to actually read (the information section) you see that I do in fact give stuart credit for the list. Please dont be ignorant and just think I stole it and claim its mine. Nowhere do I say that i created the list on my own. I out right give him credit. I also asked him if he wanted to just combine lists and stuff, to create a master list with my features, but he declined.

Please dont think I'm an asshole for improving his list, especially since I give him credit. Also, who is assuming people are stupid? where did that come from anyways, I dont understand why you would even say that people arent stupid.. i never claimed they were? Thanks.

I think that such kind of information, databased, is hard to copyrighted, meaning users can sumbit results from one database to another so the database owner cannot really know who posted what and where...

great forum and hdl dump rules. I have a question,

How do you extract a game from ps2 hd?

And I guess you load one from the hd by selecting a ISO and clicking install.

Sometimes I get the message when loading a image, hdl dump says like 626mb then like 640mb req?

I was doing this with contra shattered soldier and had a few problems. finally I loaded from CD disc drive instead of DVD drive and seemed to load fine. Also use dvd iso read mode with dvd games and CDRWIN with cd games?

hi and welcome to our forum.

You can extract games from a PS2 HDD by using either HDL Dump or WinIIP software, have you tried latest versions?
