Hello everyone, this is my first post in these forums
I have a problem with my ASUS 5224A (52x24x52x) CD recorder. When I burn a CD-R, the process finishes successfully, but then, if I try it in my CD reader, 4 out of 10 times my CD reader fails to read the files at some random point.

I've tried with Nero under Windows and cdrecord/K3B under Linux and the problem persists, so I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem. I've tried to upgrde the firmware to see if it helped, but it didn't .

Before throwing the recorder out of the window, I was going to try to clean the recorder, or something...any ideas are appreciated.

EDIT: I'm recording at 24x
