i'm blown away with this one.

a PR rep. has asked us to help him burn a CD which he cant. A pop-up display of a file name being too long is giving him the fits, and all files have 42 or fewer characters *including the ".doc , or other extention".

what i NEED to know is if a limit exist for any characters to be within the file name, that would keep it from wanting to burn.

examples:
file_____82.doc
you&me.pdf
"Party"_with Pat.doc

thoughts?

What is the disc trying to be copied? Is it protected?
Also, what software are you using?

the burn will include only files from my PC. files include pdf, psd, doc, eps, and several fonts.
this is with Easy CD Creator Software... multiple types of CD's have been tried.

i'm still at a loss with the file names.

Tbh, I've never seen or heard of this problem. Might I suggest getting rid of the Easy CD Creator, as it has reportedly caused all kinds of problems. Try Nero.
