Hi,
Just got UT2003 today, a day early 9/30 I might add. Well I tried to back up using both Scout and Clony with no luck. "ScecureRom New" I think it said. I made 2 coasters so far. Anyone else had any luck. It auto starts and the menu comes up, but when you click play it spins then nothing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanx,
Jeff in LA,CA[xx(].USA.

The only thing you could do is use DAEMON Tools, and get the appropiate MDS file... These new protections are based on physical CD parameters, and the games are now being mastered on special glass masters. The SecuROM protection is able to distinguish a CD-R copy form the original by looking at the phiscal stucture/parameters.

So no go for 1:1 at this time, and very unlikely anytime, but I do hope this will change.

It's not only V4.77+ SecuROM, but also ProtectCD 5 etc.

Yes, even RAW-DAO/96 & correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns is becoming of less importance with these new age protections. They don't put intentional errors on the disc, but rather design the copy protection to recognise the physical stucture of CD-R media as appose to the special glass mastered game discs now being used, and protected with StarForce, SecuROM *really NEW*, VOB ProtectCD 5 etc, etc...

STOP worrying there is always a way around digital protection as I have said many times if it can be put on someone somewhere knows how to get it off or get around it !!!
It just takes Time and Patience !!!

No Body Mentioned C.r.a.c.k.s did they You know how I feel about them !!!
The only thing I am interested in is that I can make a back-up for my Legally Purchessed programs so that if there is an accident with the original I can still carry on using the Program without either waiting weeks to get an replacement or purchessing the Program again !!! And your precious 1:1 copies are not necessary for my purpose but if they were So far there is nothing the Great Yamaha CRW-F1 will not back-up shame about the Plextor and the SD 2.5 though !!! [:p]

Thats bullsh*t.... Buy the game, copy it and see for yourself. And if you say it works, send the backup to me or John to verify. You cannot use c r a c k s or hacks or anything.
