Hi Everyone,

Im rather new to this forums, and I couldnt locate any infomation about a drive: AOPEN CRW1232, after doing a search for it.
Mainly if that drive can copy perfect backups of SD2 copy protected discs.

Im not really concerned about the performance of a drive since it will be installed on a stand-alone machine doing nothing... so burning SD2 (and other copy-protections) are my only concerns.

Any help will be apreciated.

Thanx.

PS. There used to be a list somewhere on the net, that lists all the CDRW Drives that CAN burn SD2 protections. Anyone know where I can find such a list?

Hi ignofuk,

Look at http://www.elby.org/CloneCD/english/index.htm
If your drive is supported than it can read and write SD2 copy protected discs.

Thanx guys for your replies and help.

Now, I got a related question for ya. IS there ANY newer CDRWs with speeds above 20x (preferably 40x16x10 and better) that can copy all the current copy protection schemes?

I already have the ACER 12x cdrw and I am able to make perfect copies of SD2 CDs, but Im looking for something newer...

I have already tested the new Yamaha 40x drives and I was unable to copy SD2 CDs with all different settings with CloneCD (succesfully made alot of top-quality coasters though ;) ).

My only requirements are that they be able to copy all current copy protections, and is rated at a high speed. Price isnt much of an issue.

Any input would be greatly apreciated.

Thanx

Can you give me the specific model number of the units?
The fastest drives that can burn perfect copies of SD2 and other copyprotected CDs.

Thanx.

The fastest (24x) CD-RW's which can read and write almost every copy protection including SD2 are: the Liteon 24102b and the Plextor PX-W2410TA. The Liteon is for sure the cheapest and maybe the best....make up your choice.
