Hi everybody,

I bought an external version of the NEC 2500A (cause I have a laptop), so I have it with Firewire and USB.

But I would like to flash the firmware 2500A-> 2510A and I can not do it with a DOS flasher !

Will you release a Windows flasher or can I do it with DOS ?

Thanks for your answer !

OK, Emperor, At last I found them. For anybody who had the same problem as me, here is the direct link where you can find all the files needed:

http://tdb.rpc1.org/#ND2510A

Best regards and thank you. Now all I need is to buy a Nec2500A DVDWriter ;->.

No you just need to grab the NEC 2510A firmware and a DOS flasher to proceed with the firmware upgrade, read at the rpc1.org (link at first post) more info and more information!

Thanks again for your answer and sorry to bother you again, but I do not see it clear. The only files I have been able to find are Firmwares versions 1.06 and 1.07. In the text file of the version 1.07 reads that it can only be applied to version 1.06, so I guess I have to install version 1.06 before 1.07. Other thing that reads in the text file is that "-This update dont create a dual layer writing function", and that makes me think that I do not have the right files to get Dual Layer capability.

I have been looking the posts in RPC1.org but I do not find the answer I need.

Please, could yo describe the whole process in detail and links where I could find the right files.

Best regards and sorry to be such a pain in the neck ;->

I don't think NEC ND-1300 can be upgraded, totally different hardware

As for DOS bootdisks might want to look at http://www.bootdisk.com/

The NEC 1300 CANNOT be flashed beyond what it is already. If you do so, you will RUIN your drive, and it will be useless, it does not have the hardware to support this! Please do not do so.

Sorry for the post on this topic, but on the top of page are some words " Laptop, Firewire, USb, Flash, and some other at your forum like dvd burner, ps2, windows xp, cd, etc, which are underlined. When I click on, my speakers play a strange noise. (like lots of click)
Is this a problem of my computer?

Thank you and sorry for this post on the topic dedicated to NEC

Jason

Well I have just tested them and I don't have any problems with them so the only thing I can think of is that you have a POP UP KILLER installed as these are links to pop ups and that would probably give you the Noises you are getting !!!

Emperor,

I think I speak on behalf of many people here when I say that it would be important to find out if the DL DVD you burned plays on a set-top DVD player.

Is there any particular reason you have not been able to test out the DL DVDs on such a player?

Dear dbretton, the only reason is that we must first obtain several DVD players before be able to test, how that sounds?

Hi Emperor

I've got a question. I flashed my nd-2500a to 2510a that's ok!

The ZIP file contains 3 *.bin files. I've only used the 2510orig.bin file, when I look with the "NERO info tool" my drive is a DVD+R DL drive, with Firmwareware version: KOP2

The question:

Must I flash my nd-2500 also with the 2510FAST.BIN and with the 2510RP1.BIN.

When i take a look at your neroinfotool.bmp you've got more options: (I don't have RAW DAO 16, RAW SAO 16, RAW DAO)

Is this because i've don't used the 2 bin files

By the way: nice topic
