Hello Emperor. You have made a very good job testing these DVDBurners.
I am starting to be interested in buying a DVD burner, but I have been waiting for DL burners. But if NEC 2500A is able to write DVD9, maybe this could be a good choice for me.

Could you please tell me where can I get the files needed to flash the firmware?.

Drj please d/l visit the RPC1.org and go the website that have the firmware available for download. Grab any firmware for DOS and use the included DOS flasher, let me know if you need any help

I have made my NEC2500A to a NEC2510A, but everytime I rebbot or turnon my computer the drive eject.
Anyone there have had the same experiance?

I guess I have to install the 1.06 version and then 1.07. Is this the firmware that turns the 2500A into 2510A?.

Hi, I just bought the NEC2500A dvd rw and would like to convert it to 2510A. I downloaded the files already but the README file says that I need to be in a pure DOS environment to flash the drive. Could somebody tell me how to safely do it. Maybe you emperor could help me out.

I believe I was able to dos flash mine from a XP dos prompt boot from one of my drives that is still fat32. To be safe you can use a dos boot floppy disk and if you have enough room put the bin file and the flasher on the disk or have a fat32 HD that DOS can see and get the files from it after you've booted to DOS. If you get it right it's then just a matter of making sure you get the command lines right and flash the proper drive. You can still make a dos boot disk in XP, it's one of the options when you go to format a floppy disk.

What about NEC ND-1300, could this drive be upgraded? It's just a slower version of ND-2500.

Thanks again for your answer and sorry to bother you again, but I do not see it clear. The only files I have been able to find are Firmwares versions 1.06 and 1.07. In the text file of the version 1.07 reads that it can only be applied to version 1.06, so I guess I have to install version 1.06 before 1.07. Other thing that reads in the text file is that "-This update dont create a dual layer writing function", and that makes me think that I do not have the right files to get Dual Layer capability.

I have been looking the posts in RPC1.org but I do not find the answer I need.

Please, could yo describe the whole process in detail and links where I could find the right files.
