I've looked at the CloneCD website for info on my HP3100 and 5100 series cdwriters. I made an CCD image of operation flashpoint, but I haven't burned it because I wasn't sure if I had set the options correctly. When I didn't check anything, it just kinda hung there and didn't do anything, but when I check the read subchannel data one, then it only took a minute or so to write the image file. What settings would you recommend for copying SD2 with an HP?

I have been thinking of upgrading, but I've never had any probs with my HP's and they're fast and reliable, but then again I've never really been big on cloning. I just have to clone OFP because the dedicated server checks for the CD...stupid thing.

.

The hp's do not have the correct EFM encoding the only hp is 8250i which is based on a phillips CCD4201 you may be able to copy the easier safedisc 2 version, this protection is customizable (easier/harder)My backup of operation flashpoint was done with a phillips pcrw 804K writer a Toshiba XM-6702 reader. used fast error skip/ close last session clone cd version 3072, for all other protection backups I use the HP9310i. Good luck also use my previous post link for safedisc 2 compatable writers it is very good as is clone cd site.

Ok, so if I were to buy any of these CD writers, which would be the best to get?
I'd like to get another recorder that can do full SD2 1:1 copies. Acers seem to almost all work. I've heard Plextor is good, but some of the newer models have bugs I've heard.

I have to agree with Arioch. I too own the 124TS plextor SCSI and it burns every PC game CD!!! No copy protection is safe against it!!!
