Sabre,

You didn't give enough information to provide you with any kind of solid answer.

"why my writer can write other media at 6x and other at 2x or 4x??? can someone give me a good explanation??

What kind/speed of writer are you using/operating system? What type of media/speed media are you using, and what mastering software are you using?

If you could please provide some of the above information, I'm sure myself, as well as any of the other fine members here would be glad to assist you.

-Peace-

i have a ricoh writer 6x4x24 and i use verbatim and intenso media. intenso cdrs i can burn them at 6x speed but verbatim only in 2x because at 4x and 6x it says illegal speed for the medium. i have successfully burnt verbatim cdrs at 6x with my old firmware 1.50. i updated it to 1.80 in order to clone protections because it gave my writer dao support. verbatim cdrs successfully burnt were 12x with blue surface and those of 2x were 16x with yellow-white i can't tell what colour have. intenso are 24x with the almost same surface like 16x verbatim. please help me.

Hi MP3Mogul
You are on your own with this one !!!

Hi Saber_Rider again
You say " i have successfully burnt verbatim cdrs at 6x with my old firmware 1.50. i updated it to 1.80 in order to clone protections because it gave my writer dao support."
Well I think you have answered your own question once again. Your problem is with the firmware it probably dosen't recognise the Media correctly with the new firmware. With the price of Writers I supprised you don't buy a new one with all the burning you say you are doing !!!

the writer i have is not mine. i have borrowed it from a friend of mine. i don't intend to buy a cd writer because i want to burn occasionally. i don't want to spend my money to that. it is better to buy a dvd and cd writer together. all in one.

also i have found something new. hte verbatim cdrs 16x that i can only burn them at 2x speed are datalife not datalife plus. are not manufactured by mitchubishi corporation and are short strategy type where every other media i have philips, pionner, verbatim datalife plus and intenso are long strategy type. also i can't understand what is cdr sub-type is. other media have 0, 2, or 3 value. thank you

Saber, why do you continue to post info that has nothing to do with this forum here? Come on guy, read the header and just post your stuff in the right area. I know you can do it.......

Visit www.cdrtimes.net too. Another great place....
