Hey Laffin, You seem to be the resident Expert.
I am having the same problem as hnhsdiver, where the system will try to read a CD in either my MTRP 52x CD-Rom Drive (E-IDE CD-ROM 52X/AKH SCSI CdRom Device) or my Matsh*ta 8x4x32 Burner Drive (MATsh*tA CD-RW CW-7586 SCSI CdRom Device) and return the error:
"Disk is not Formatted"
"Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows."
When I tried to fix the problem I started by uninstalling both drives.
I then received the error:
"Device Installer Error"
"Setup cannot load the installer CdRom. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance."
I seemed to have fixed the "Device Installer Error" by restoring my original autoexec.nt file to the System32 folder. Then continued to remove the IDE controller and all devices attached. (Harddrives, too)
If you noticed the SCSI part of the Device Manager listing, that is because my MB has onboard Promise ATA100 controller. I have the same MB as hnhsdiver (oddly enough). A7V KT133, Thunderbird 750 (running at 756Mhz set on the MB as per SandraPro 2003) WinXPPro 2600.
I only have Alex Feinman's ISO Burner Power Toy installed.
I do not have Nero installed.
I do not have InCD installed.
I do not have Roxio/Adaptec or any other burner software installed.
I have been using the same hardware/software configuration as always.
The only thing that has changed is the Bios. I upgraded from v1009 to v1011 about a month ago and this problem has only been happening for about 3 days.
PLEASE HELP!!!
