I am new to the Forum and new to DVD-R/W media. I have recently purchased a Pioneer DVD-R/W consumer recorder for the primary purpose of archiving tons of VHS tape content, and the 2nd gen Pioneer DVD-R/W drive for my PC, for the purpose of storage of photos and data files. I have been running around on the web looking for bulk DVD-R & RW media. The Pioneer media is $3X the cost of "generic Taiwan" media. The obvious questions come to mind; what are the differences between the Pioneer-branded media and the $1.59 Taiwan media, in terms of performance, quality, reliabilty and especially longevity? If anyone has any data, actual user stories, or can point me to places on the web where I can research this effectively, I would appreciate your help. Thank you and regards.
