I have a question. On my windows xp I find that I can repeatedly save updated files by the same name on my CD-R disk. I thought this was not possible and that I needed to use a CD-RW disk. What's going on?

You can do packet writing in a CD-R disc, however you cannot restore the empty space as with CD-RW media
