I have 2 DVD drives installed on my machine plus Ner Essential7 which includes an installed InCD5.

One is a LIteON (IDE) which behaves perfectly with InCD.

The other is a SONY AD5240S (SATA).

Trying to format a Philips DVD-RW 4X in the Sony drive I get an error message sying that it will not fromat ... damaged or scratched?

Can anyone see from this why this drive refuses to accept InCD formatting please?.

I may have given the wrong extract from the error.log file in my earlier post.

Have you tried a full erase of the disc?

Yes. The problem is there whether I insert a new disc, a fully erased disc, or a formatted disc The SONY will not format or write to any disc with InCD.

The LiteOn drive in the same machine with the same Nero/InCD never fails.
