is there anything i can get to tracfer old vhs tapes to hi definition with out buying a hd cam. right now i tracfer my old tapes thru my mini dv cam but i cant capture it as hi def video. the video quality comes better then recording it to a  dvd home recorder but some tapes i got are old and the quality is not that good but i  figure if i tracfer it in hi def i can reduce it down to 720 by 480 to sharpin it up better any help please thanx.

thanx for the info but i need a capure card that captures in hi def not in 720 by 480 can any one else help me

You mean capture at 720p or 1080p? That would cost you a lot...But why you do this? VHS resolution is very low, not compared with DVD...So simply use a DivX on-the-fly convertor for real time results

i know old vhs is lower quality but if u trancfer at a high def and bring down thes res to 720 by 480 it will look way sharper the the video

Hi friend! I am not very sure that what you are saying is correct. How can it look better at 720p, when VHS has very low resolution?
