Had connections directed there when making a post - peculiar and/or repeated port numbers make me nervous.

Only ever had it when posting.

I have noted the same in Zone Alarm, it's an Advertisement on the system, the offending AD is one that also POPS up and tells you that "It" has detected spyware on your system, and to click a box to remove it... (of course it's an ad, and I know you don't do that) but I have traced the offending IP and it's a company that "specializes" in SPYWARE itself!

Best I can discover, is that "IT" is trying to install on that particular port, it's "OWN" spyware, or Adware....... if your particular firewall will block that, then I suggest you do so....

Thanks SP, it's amazing what ad companies will resort to these days....

Ionian,

As far as my Zone labs show, you have "already" resolved the issue, as I have no "port sniffers" now...

It's great to know that "we" are on the job to cut this off as it happens, and thanks to users like "Matthew" who have brought this to light to let us know. I say keep up the great work!

My Firewall fended it off adequately, but I know it's a case of treading the line between blocking everything (and sites don't work / don't get paid ads) and letting the real sh*te through - vermin like GATOR (now CLARIA) and others.

Of all the ads I've seen on other sites, "Ads by Google" are about the least obtrusive (and targeted by forum topic, can be uncannily accurate, or humourously off-track)
