Hi everyone,

I'm new to this message board and had a few questions. First, and most importantly, i wanted to know which modchip is better, dms 3 or magic V, considering i have a version 5 ps2.

Also, i was wondering if anyone knew a reliable online store to buy one of these chips where i wouldn't end up getting ripped off, fake chips, etc???

My last question is to know whether modchips were illegal in canada?

Any help would be amazing.....

Tron is "right on" with his post, and it is NOT illegal...... they are also very reputable! I know I live in the US, but I have alot of sources!

Also, between the DMS3 and the magic V, which one would you guys choose?

Magic v is much cheaper and i wanted to know if it was worth investing the extra cash for the DMS3??

dms 3 can be flashed with new updates so I like that chip, but they are both good choices. As MP3Mogul has sayed in another post "I'm saying, do alot of reading, look at what you want to accomplish, then compare the mod chips, to what you want to do, and if they meet your needs, then start seeking places that sell/install them...... then you will be well informed...... anytime you are going to make an electronic mod to something that you own, it is best to be well "read" and informed, then you can decide what is best for you.

It is very easy, for a Mod/Admin to suggest something, and we can do that for you, but we are not always "aware" of your particular circumstance, nor what you are trying to accomplish. There is a "fountain" of knowledge both "here" and throughout the net..... if you would like to "expound" on exactally what you want to do, we would be glad to further assist you...... but just from experience, please get all the information on exactally "what you expect" from a mod chip, and what you expect to be able to accomplish."

I live in Canada, and have purchased the mod chip for my PSone and PS2 from www.consolesource.com A canadian company that will ship it for only $3 in Canada. I got the PS2 chip 3 days after I ordered it.
