My friend has WinXP SP1 with Nero 6 Ultra Ed. and Incd 4.0.7.2, we noticed that after installing Incd, there is now an apllication running in the services modules of XP, that for some reason when you insert a disc on one of the cd/dvd-rom, and wanted to image it on the hard drive, "we cant do it ! it says that the device is in use !" It seems that this services from incd is hugging the resources of that device !

As I suggested by e-mail to "jingski", he should try to update Nero 6 from www.nero.com.

Try turning off WindowsXP's BUILT in IMAPI software, this is the conflict you are experiencing. If you are unsure how to do this, please post back and let us know.

Well... just by your message, stating the "device is in use" something is accessing it, some burning software loading in the background or the Windows IMAPI Software, you will need to go into services and see what is running.... Do you have more than one burning application installed?

Yes, he has Nero and InCD, that makes 2. ;-) But both have learned how to cooperate, thus I suggest to update Nero.

Thanks Craig, I was thinking other than Nero, because he stated he had Nero 6 Ultra above...

Definately get the latest release of Nero, and make sure you keep it updated. The good folks at ahead are always posting updates (once a month) for Nero, and InCD, and if it is a "critical" update you will see it released as needed.
