Okay as per the title, I have some XVid files that i'd like to convert to DVD format and burn to disc, but am experiencing problems.

So far I have tried using NeroVision Express 2, after setting up my menu with a picture in the background and 3 video files to select from via buttons, I went about encoding and burning the files, a 6 hour or so process. The end result is that when I enter the Disc into either my DVD player or X-Box I get the menu screen with the animated buttons, however whenever I hit select or play nothing happens (although on the X-Box it goes back to the green screen).

I've tried this twice now, the first time when I selected the 3 files I was told that the quality (i.e. bitrate) would need to be reduced in order for them to fit on a standard disk, therefore going to the "long play" setting which was going to produce a 3GB output. On my second attempt I selected a Custom bitrate between "long play" and "standard play" which should have produced a 4.2 (roughly) output. Upon checking both disks, the first had only 1.09GB written to it while the second had 1.43GB.

I'm not sure what has gone wrong, but I have read that NeroVision Express 2 dosen't have the best encoding process, could it be down to this? I've managed to convert movie files previously, and work out any problems with them along the way, but this one has got me stumped as I dont know if i'm doing something wrong or if the software is poor.

Any help for me to get these files burned would be great.
