Yeah, it´s a test from German´s magazine "chip". This magazine real sucks. I think Samsung is a big sponsor of it, because the 162 is on 2nd place and the good Benq 1640 on 8.

Every time they test HDs, Samsung will get 1st place, and the slow SV-series get 2nd. Funny thing is that they made HD-tests with the newest avaible Samsung and from other manufacturers they test old series although the newer ones were avaible longer than the Samsung

writing early next year.

Next year? NEC, LG, Pioneer and Benq have DVD-RAM-drives that are avaible now or soon

Have read the Philips 1648-review.

Looks like Philips want to save costs, there´s only a little LED on the front, not a cool light like older Philips have.

A question to the protected discs tests: All written CD-R with SD2 are not readable in other drives?

Pioneer DVR 110 Review

Looks like Pioneer improve the writing-quality with some media :)

But I´m a little bit disappointed from the quality with 16x DVD-R-media, the MCC03RG20 could be better, the Benq 016S, too. I guess this is the first writer that burn better on Daxon 16x +R, other writers do better with -R.

As you know a newer firmware might improve this. It is good I think since if people at Pioneer read the review then they will fix it.

Did I miss something or don´t you have any LF-media for testing?

Is the 14x writing-speed avaible for -R and +R?

Overall I´m a little disappointed for the quality of 16x -R, I thought NEC can do better

Strange, it can only backup SD2.9 and not 3.1

I thought it have the same chipset like the Samsung 162C, but the 162 can backup SD3.1?
