Well it IS a real Nero, Nero Express, it just does not come with the Nero Burning ROM.

I'd vote for Easy CD Creator over Nero Express any day.

I never had a coaster with ECDC, and used it with my new drive as well (until some system foulup resulted in the bizarre occurence of an error in ECDC AFTER closing the program ... irritating, but it still worked) - Then I loaded the Nero that came with the new drive.

Time to bite the bullet and reinstall windows - Win98SE seems to rot quicker than XP - though a friend had some truly hellish crashes in XP .... If I had the guts to, I'd go Linux - it couldn't be any worse!

Actually Linux is very stable, as stable as WinXP, but the problem with it, you may or may not find specific drivers that you need to run your current system. It is however, open source, and there is alot of support for it.
