i want to buy a two cd/dvd drives for my new system, but after reading the reviews i'm still a slightly unsure which will suit my needs best.  what i really care about is quality ripping and burning, not speed.  i was thinking of buying one drive that had good writing quality, (plextor, benq, nec, or lg?) and then a rom drive for reading (ripping).  the dvd burners i mentioned have good dvd reading and writing, sometimes good cd reading, but seem to lack cd writing quality.  i'm having trouble distinguishing between cd writing quality in the reviews.  any ideas what combination of drives would give me the best of, um, all worlds?

The new BenQ 1640 has very good writing quality and it is very fast as a ripper.

I don't think the Benq 1640 is availalbe in the US, which is where I am.  From the reviews the LG 4163B seems to be the best at writing, and pretty good at dvd reading, of all the models reviewed.  But no one in the forums seems to be recommending them.  I was curious if there was some inside story or something.  And what people like for cd reading/writing.

The BenQ 1640 is available in the US.

I use a Liteon 16P9S for ripping and either the BenQ1640 or Plextor 716 for writing.
