Hello, I bought mt Cd-writer yesterday, it's a Philips PCRW4816 (so 48x16x48) and i bought some cd-rs with it. I downloaded the demo version of Nero 6 and tried to copy some music cds. But it doesn't work! It always says that the cd r isn't writable but it IS a Cd-r!!I haven't got any experience with cd-writers but I tried several things. First I tried to update the Philips Cd Writer so I went to the philips site and downloaded the proper flashtool. But it says "Aspi Send Error"

Ok i know this has been discussed several times on this forum and I read several topics about it. So I download Aspi Fix, updated the Aspi (it is now version 4.71.2 but still it says "Aspi Send Error"

Can someone Help me? But could it be that several CD-r brands don't work on my cd-writer?

If you used My ASPI FIX correctly you should have ASPI 4.60 and that is the most stable Version !!!

Berserk, click on the batch file and run it in the ASPI fix, this will install the correct 4.60 drivers, then run ASPICHK and you'll see that all versions should say 4.60 now.

I have a philips cdrw800 series. I ran this fix below and it ran fine. I need to find drivers to make this work in XP or 2000. It is hooked up via USB. I have talked to philips and the drive is no longer supported. I am just trying to get my device to work. It shows up now as a USB mass storage device. HELP!
