Yeah, is there any expert on this. I would also like to do it but it is a kind of risky. I only use the default oc of my Asus mb.

why bother clocking it? there is no need for more cpu power for now. So, i'll pass

we must find a way to unlock the upper limit of the multiplier. Otherwise, with the Athlon64 (not FX series), the overclocking potential is limited for all CPUs. For example, i think that both 3500+ and 3800+ can be overclock to the same speed, while the 3800+ is slightly faster with no overclocking (and has 12x multiplier). Now, the multiplier has to be below 11x to make the system stable, when overclocked.

I will make some tests pretty soon, and i'll keep you posted. Some experiences from users will be appreciated, to save me some time experimenting

Perhaps we can pencilmod the 3500+ into an FX ^^ (you'll need a really really sharp pencil and a microscope)

I have an a8v deluxe and a64 3500 it is running stable with a 9.5 multiplier running 275 mhz.  I changed ram to 1:1 instead of limit.  With a 1 volt increase on processor it now run nicely at 2.6 ghz instead of 2.2.  I still have not played with the ram timings on the ozc 1 gig premiere dual channel.  It made over 2 seconds difference on E calc testing. and super pi.  I do not want to go higher than this at this time considering i still have stock heatsink and fan.   There is an excellent article on overclocking amd's at www.extremeoverclocking.com..    I ran it like this for 3 weeks then just turned it down to auto.   The wife didn't like the idea of me wicking up a new pc!

well, my mobo is overheated, and that's why i got this high temperatures... there's nothing wrong with the thermalright cooler.

i got almost 45C mobo temperature (idle) but it never gets above 47C (high load)... i think that the CPU temp is increased because of this (fanless motherboard)

So you try to overclock you amd64 and are afraid of overheating. Well i ask amd and the normal op temp is 60-65c so if you are runnin cooler i wouldnt worry about it oc it tilll you get to around 60. looks like most of you are runnin 45c... im runnin 50c norm. just recently swapped out heatsinks and droped 15 degrees.

btw newcastle 3500 , gigabyte k8nsnxp-pro, 2x512 pc3200 corsair,geforce 5900xt
and it runs great and quiet
