I have tried a variety of different burning software, but when I burn an MPG into a VCD and play it back on my DVD player, it stalls (looks like a 'pause' but won't unpause) at a random point in the clip.
Is this likely to be a fault of my burning process, or the conversion from MPG, or an incompatibility of the DVD player[?]

When you say "DVD Player" can I assume that you are refering to a stand alone, and not one in your computer? If that is the case, then I would try another media. Also some players like CDRWs better than CDRs try both..... You might also get better results with a slower burn speed selected. But it could end up being your player too.... Let us know if this helped...

just wondering if your dvd player plays vcds as astandard or as a result from chipping or a hack sometimes if it is from either of these it can depend at what speed u burn your discs as where as if it is a vcd compliant player it could well be the discs what make are u using at the moment?
