I have tried unsuccessfully to backup Max Payne. I am using CloneCD 3.0.6.1, Yahama 16x10x40 SCSI burner. I made backups that will install but the game will not play. I get an error message: Max Payne caused an error in ~DF3948.TMP.

I used ClonyXL to detect the copy protection (Safedisk2) and used the settings recommended (Fast error Skip, read retries 3, error correction
none and read speed 4x). Any suggestions???

Thanks

You cannot backup Max Payne with the drive you are using. Try BetaBlocker instead!

Thanks, John. I had read that only a few drives were able to copy Safedisk2 and Yahama wasn't one of them.

I used a friends Plexto and it worked fine....

ok if you want to copy sd2 i recommend liteon 24x10x32 rev102b it will copy them and to read it you need a "ghetto" cd reader that does not read atip (standard cd reader without recorder) and you are set

I copied Max Payne with my Plextor 16/10/40A and DiskJuggler. Works like a champ in the Plextor. Already beat the game!
