DJmachine -> Will NTbackup(BU sftwr incl w/WinXP Pro) use CD-RW (5/1/2003 4:05:23 AM)

Does anyone know if NTbackup (the backup software included with WinXP Pro)will recognize CD-RW media when InCD is being used for packet-writing software?

I assume the answer is that it will not work with any CD-RW media regardless, but just thought I would ask....

Thanks in advance.

It might, but even if it does, don't use it. InCD is packet writing software, and therefore just plain unreliable.

If you really need to do back ups, raid your drives, buy a tape back up system, or build another computer to back up to.

You can always take regular snapshots of your system using Norton Ghost or the tool that comes with Nero (I forget its name right now), if you want some CD back ups. Just don't expect CDs to be the best solution for a nightly back-up scheme.
