merley -> NEC ND-3500AG problem burning DVD-R? - help :) (12/24/2004 10:44:54 AM) Hi, I have had my burner for a while now and have very successfully burned many dvd+r. I have just bought some "RiDisc dvd-r" and can't get the writer to write to them!!! pffffft.....I have done some research today, and it seems I may need a firmware update??? Please could someone advise me on what I need to do to start burning these dvd-r discs? [&:] Are these discs compatible? ...What discs are? What firmware do I need? Do I need firmware? Not sure what firmware I have, I guess whatever came with the dvd writer?..?..? Do I go straight to 2.18, do I not need to install previous versions first? Could you gimme some instruction if poss....(not trying to sound too thick [8|] ) I have been to this site: http://www.micheldeboer.nl/firmware/index.html ...but not sure about version etc....dont wanna mess it up. Really wanna get these RiDiscs working Merley.

I noticed on these discs, there is a line going around the centre of the disc on the underside, when I tried to burn the disc, I then noticed that it seemed to only burn up to that line.....hummmm....any ideas??

Id be glad if you could download dvdinfo and look what dye your discs are. Ritek G05 or Ritek G(1-4). If they are 05's post me a pm, and let me know how it went...(just ordered 100 RitekG05's) /aki

Got 2.18 firmware - works a treat, tried burning one of the discs last night, and burnt it in 13mins (not bad) AKIUS - I really dunno what type they are, sorry, but they seem to be burning well for me, and the print of chronicles of riddick I have just printed looks very good.
