Hello,

I hope you can help.

I have recently purchased a Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO 1845 notebook with pentium 4, 512 ram, radeon 9700, 40gb, DVD+RW/cd+rw, etc.

DVDs play ok.
CDs play ok
I can burn to CDr no problem

But I can not write to DVD+RWs.... I can not even get Nero or Media Player 10 to format the DVD+RWs !!

The drive is a HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GCA-4040N.

The firmware is 1.04.

Can anyone point me directly to the latest firmware - the Fujitsu Siemens websit is down and I cant find it from there.

Would new firmware fix the problem or does it sound like its a hardware problem ??

I have searched for new drivers too (the current one is 5.1.2535.0 from MS)

Can you please help.

Your drive is an LG.

My laptop is Fujitsu Siemens... when i go these 2 suggested sites and downlaod the dell one or the lg one i get messages that say

1) Can not find target drive

2)The version of the LGE file does not match the one one the drive

Any further help would be appreciated

(someone else with the same problem has spoke to Fujitsu and they couldnt fix it over the phone.......
he's got to send it back)

I want to ensure ive tried evrything before i do the same

Maybe you should contact Fujitsu, since there is nothing else available, even in LGs websites.[&o]

Its going back to DABS..... I stumbled across another person with the same laptop and same problem !
