terry minson -> Incd and Directcd (11/26/2002 8:33:57 PM)

I just purchased a Buslink RW4848 cdrw that is a LiteOn rebadge. During software install it tells me I must remove direct cd in order to load Incd. This brings up several questions:

Do I really need Incd?

If I remove direct cd, assuming I can find where to uninstall it, will my "Easy CD creator 5 Platinum" still work?

At this point I can read the cdrw discs that I had previously written, but of course can't write to them.

Any advice would be appreciated. I work on the PC alot, but am certainly not a guru.

If you are happy with EasyCDC and DirectCD, I cannot see why you would need to make a change at this time. On the other hand, will you be working with CD-MRW (Mt. Rainier) media? If so, I have no idea if DirectCD is compatible. Otherwise, conventional wisdom suggests that mixing InCD with Roxio software is risky business. If it were me, I'd probably skip InCD at this time. My 2 cents.
