I have a KHypermedia 8X DVD+R/RW drive

I think it's a CIS drive - http://www.cis.com.tw/
but not positive.

It's got the Philips chipset and your DVDInfoPro can set
the Bitset functions correctly.

I'd like to see if it can do PI/PO and maybe even Jitter testing.

What type of Info would I need to get you from the drive
to see if this is possible?

Hmm, for sure Herrie would need the command set to support them, what kind of chipset you drive has?

I might have to have a chat to Herrie about this.....

If its anything like some of the other Philips h/w of late, PI/PO might not work. Time will tell.

It's got the Philips chipset (I opened the drive and checked the circuit board)

Kind of hard to read, but I could get a magnifying glass if necessary.

From what I've read on forums, the Benq and Philips brand (of course philips)
uses the Philips chipset, so wouldn't it be a similar command set?

Or am I clueless on this aspect?

Hi,

If its the philips chipset then its certainly capable of pi/po and jitter readings. The command set may or may not already be in the firmware. I would need the vendor unique command set for PI/PO and Jitter if implemented then I can add it in.

This drive has almost no information on it, and I tried your
DVDInfoPro 2.99 to access Bitset capabilities, and it worked
fine with no problem whatsoever, Program recognized the
drive with no issue and I was able to set the drive defaults
to DVD-ROM format, which was definitely a bonus!

that is very likely, ok, send me a snapshot of the bitsetting dialog, as there are many, once I determine which one it is responding to, then maybe it will respond to pi/po too. I can add the id string in and see if it works,

Send me.

1 snapshot of bitset dialog.
2. log file from dvdinfopro directory
3. drive id string as displayed

Other wise we will need commands which can only come from the manufacturer, unless someone can get me a drive and I will see what can be done.

I think CIS drives are in reality CyberDrive drives uses Philips Nexperia chipsets...

Sorry it has taken so long to respond to this, but with vacation and deadlines for work I have had little time to spend on the program.

Its obvioulsy responding to BENQ bitset commands, so chances are its a BENQ firmware, and it may respond to BENQ pi/po commands too. There are some issues with the BENQ routine which are not yet sorted though.

I will see if I can add compatibility for that drive.
