Dartman -> RE: Cars!!!!!!!!!! (7/6/2004 1:26:11 AM)

[;)] what do I win? I've always been a bit of a gear head and so are most of my friends.
I currently only own my Dart myself. My sister lives here as my room mate and she has 2 cars, a 91 Sundance in nice shape and a tired 71 Plymouth Scamp we bought as her first real car after my friend gave up on it and sold it to us cheap.
When I need hard parts or upgrades many times it's cheaper to buy a whole car and drive it home or drag it to my friends wrecking yard and part it out later, plus sometimes you just find a car worth buying to turn for a profit or use as the beater work car till it croaks.
We don't have the rust problems like the east coast here so there are still some cool old cars selling cheap and being driven daily. However at this point most of us into older cars have been priced right out of them. I doubt I could afford to replace my car if it's wrecked as I bought it over 20 years ago for 550 with 63k on the clock and needing some very minor work.
It even amazes me how many I've had pass through my hands and I know some friends that have had way over 20 cars so far.

emperor -> RE: Cars!!!!!!!!!! (8/17/2004 8:43:11 AM)

Yes its very nice, i think it has around 250HP?

grim -> RE: Cars!!!!!!!!!! (8/17/2004 9:24:11 AM)

unfortunately they are only 200bhp as standard, but with a few little mods, 280 + is possible.

The silliest one in the club is one of the older 1.8 ones.
on a recent high speed run it was measured at 186mph. but it is over 600bhp.....

I think the US 200sx is a completely different car. the 240SX looks the same but has a 2.4 lump. and no turbo.....

The best thing about the 200 though is the driftability. it's big in Japan, and getting bigger in the UK. basically driving for as far as possible with the back end sliding out. cooool

actually that's why i need a dvd burner, because i have loads of footage of drifting, which other people want.

like this (3.4mb)

emperor -> RE: Cars!!!!!!!!!! (8/17/2004 9:35:29 AM)

so i assume you are driving some...fast? [;)]

well personally i never exceed the speed limit[;)] but i believe in standard trim they are good for 145+
some of the drifters are flat out in third, sideways. that's about 100mph.....

/plug
anyone interested, the next round in the uk is this sunday (22 Aug), silverstone.

Hehe, me too, never exceed the speed limit, or i should say, never obey it [8D]

sp -> RE: Cars!!!!!!!!!! (8/18/2004 6:39:38 PM)

Should I add I own a hummer, made in russia?

(No, as no-one would ever believe me!)

Anyway, you can always spend your 85,000 Euros you have spared from your last year salary to buy one...:)
