Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2) provides an enhanced security infrastructure that defends against viruses, worms and hackers, along with increased manageability and control for IT professionals and an improved experience for users. To aid IT professionals in planning and testing for the deployment of Windows XP SP2, Microsoft is making available this preview, based on Release Candidate 2 (RC2) of the SP2. Microsoft (260MB)

Just a warning though if you have a Illegal version of XP which has not been activated after you install the SP2 it asks you to Activate it and if you don't it just locks you out of Windows !!! [:)]

Hmm...I had read that SP2 supposed to work even with illegal versions [&:]

That was before RC2 and now you have big problems if you use illegal versions !!! [:)]

WinBlows.... always on the ball I see...... Personally, I don't see if you really need SP2, as long as you are on top of XP.... if you are... then it really has no advantages, just Bill Gates trying to get out of alot of Law Suits.

Heh, SP2 is going to be installed in many PCs due to lot of bug fixes, i hope that M$ only corrected and not create a ton of new problems, as usual [;)]

This is an other disadvantage of the Windows monopoly. All hackers, crackers and other scum of the earth are focused on Windows exclusively. So no matter how many service packs are released, Microsoft's struggle to bring forth an impervious operating system will never end.
