djmousie -> Pioneer 104 No Longer Reading DVDs/DVD-Rs (5/28/2004 10:13:12 AM) Here are my symptoms: Slowly my Pioneer 104 has been having problems reading DVDs and DVD-Rs. However, at any point I can put in a CD or CD-R and it reads and writes fine. Last night my Pioneer stopped reading DVDs and DVD-R's completly. It tries to read it, it just makes a clunking sound, the light lights up and eventually turns off. Sometimes my burning software (StompRecordNow and cdrwin) don't even recognize my drive being available. I installed the latest firmware and that didnt work either. I tried to do a system restore hoping it would solve the problem but still nothing? Any ideas?

I even blew any dust out when i opened it. Still no luck, only reading CDs. I'm gonna test my drive on another computer today.
