chvnva -> toshiba cdr/dvd sdr2102 drivers (8/21/2002 8:03:58 AM)

I have a Toshiba cdr/dvd sdr 2102 writer/dvd player and I took it out of my old laptop and put it in my new laptop. I already have the CD-easy CD Creator software on my new laptop. What updates or drivers do I need to get this Toshiba cdr/dvd sdr 2102 operational?

I would use the latest Nero55914,less trouble and conflicts. Roxio can't get their patches consistent

have a Toshiba 2102 also, which came installed in a Compaq evo n600c from CDW.

I have been burning AVI's to CDR for a long time, but now want to burn VCDs or SVCD. Nothing seems to work. I've followed the advice at dvdrhelp.com, and used TMPGEnc to encode as MPEG2, and then VCDEasy to create bin, cue, and burn. It will not burn. Some pages seem to indicate that the 2102 does not have write drivers for CDRAO:
http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html

I have tried the latest ASPI driver, and 4.60, and I get the same error. It indicates that the "disk is not blank" or "may indicate that you have the wrong Force driver (which is set to default). Consistent with the chart on the sourceforge page, VCDEasy offers a "toshiba" option for *reading*, but not in the menu for *writing*.

Is it true that I just cannot burn VCD or SVCD disks with a Toshiba DVD-ROM 2102? If not, how do I fix it?

Thanks.
PP
