john -> Here we go again...! (7/24/2002 9:28:35 AM)

As it seems some people never learn from their mistakes and keep the same attributes. The below post was mentioned in a "friendly" website, commenting our exclusive EasyWrite tests:

"...While I respect cdrinfo for trying something new, I really feel tests like this should be left to certified testing facilities. While there might be some issues with the CRW-F1 before its EasyWrite certified, I had no problems getting the drive to work with InCD..."

Who said we are not certified testing labs for EasyWrite tests? Maybe the author of the above test, should check again his sources...Also the main idea ,and the most important, of Mt. Rainier format, is the proper handling of defect media, to ensure reliable re-writing. For now, only the EasyWrite test suite + defect test media can test this important feature. InCD may work just fine, has he tried with a scratched media? Probably not. Maybe the author of the above text should read more carefully our EasyWrite article to understand the main propose of Mt. Rainier format..

Lastly, we understand that our efforts to bring new tests are hard to accepted from some parties, and we promise not to let them down. Just check the upcoming Plextor PX-W208U review. More tests are coming

Does't matter, who and where said that. This time we felt we had to "defend" our policy to bring new and more new tests. Already forgot it and moving on.

PS. In the near future (2+ weeks) more writing quality tests coming, beside C1/C2. This time we will not show any mercy to such ironic comments

What makes a testing lab a testing lab ? Even Dr. Thomas Pabst is not using a test lab every day for his new tests. Anand of AnandTech.com even does not do that. There are some benchmarks here , some tests there. If it came to quality writing and testing that , who needs a damn test lab ? If you are looking for certified labs , they are not usually found for the end user , but for the big companies :) TUV , KEMA and the Underwriter Laboratories make big bucks out of this :)
