rblake -> InCD 3243 - has died (4/9/2002 5:30:46 AM)

I am a loyal fan of InCD.

However, since my upgrade to 3243 (although it worked a couple of times) when I put the disk in, InCD hangs my system. It's the same if I start-up with the disk already in the drive.

I have to power down and open the drive with a paperclip!

Any ideas what's going on or how I can find out what's going on?

Cheers,

R.

... so, reinstalled the InCD version (1.71) that was bundled with my drive. Same thing.

I had also changed the drive from slave to master. As slave I couldn't get DMA to stay checked in Windows so it was off. Now it's the master, DMA stays checked.

Then I unchecked DMA and InCD worked fine!!!

Weird since with DMA on I burned a CD on the fly with Nero - perfect!

What's going on!?!?!?

Hard to say without having acces to your system.

I assume you do have the latest drivers for your IDE Controller installed?

Did you install any new software or hardware on your system recently?

Regards,

Craig

Thanks for your efforts Craig but I think my system may be dying anyway!
