I have the TDK 24/10/40/B I was curious if this drive can be O/C with the new 32X software that has been released for TDK's new CD/R. It would be nice to change the firmware and get a 32X.

The firmware program will tell you that you have the wrong drive , the firmware would need to be hacked and even then it might kill the drive . It would be easier to try with the 241040x using this firmware http://tdk-europe.com/cyclone/uk/support/upgrading/cyclone321040.html because to flash that you use sanyos winflash program which does not check for the exact drive .

This drive uses the exact same mechanism as the Sanyo BP1500 which is what I have. I flashed my rom to the 32x and the drive didn't work. Thankfully I was able to go back to the old rom and everything is fine now. Since your drive has exactly the same mechanism and will even work with the same firmware I have concluded that it cant be upgraded to a 32x. I you really want to try I can send you the hacked rom but I don't reccomend it.

The "B" version of the drive actually is a rebranded Liteon. The "A" version is the one that's a Sanyo.
